WomenFirst was founded in 2023 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, with a focused purpose: create a transportation experience built around women, children and families — with safety, respect and real human support at the centre.
What began as a local women-focused transportation service has grown into a broader Canadian ride-hailing company. Today, WomenFirst brings together ride-hailing, scheduled and business transportation, rider and driver support, and city-by-city operations with an in-house Technology Wing. Our own team develops and manages the apps, software, automation, cybersecurity and digital systems that support the service as WomenFirst grows across Canadian communities.

Our story
It started with a dream.
One night in Grande Prairie, Angelika dreamed of streets filled with purple cars — but the cars were not what stayed with her.
She saw women helping women: mothers and children travelling with care, elderly women getting safely to appointments, and drivers treating every rider with kindness and respect.
When she woke up, she could not stop thinking about one question: what if transportation could feel more personal, supportive and built around the needs of women and families?
That question became WomenFirst.
Turning the idea into reality meant research, licensing, approvals and setbacks. Angelika was also raising her family and pregnant with her fifth child — but she kept going. When WomenFirst began serving riders in Grande Prairie, she was personally behind the wheel and continued driving until just one week before giving birth.
The riders she met made the purpose even clearer. Women shared their stories, offered hugs and prayers, and told her how much a service like WomenFirst mattered to the community.
Today, WomenFirst is growing beyond those first rides, supported by women drivers and a team that still carries the same purpose: helping women, children and families travel with greater confidence, care and human support.
